They’re soon to star in Saturday Night Live‘s first official English-language adaptation, so it only makes sense that they’d pay a visit to the show’s birthplace.
LateNighter can report that members of the cast of Saturday Night Live UK were in New York last week, where they spent time in Studio 8H and dropped in on the show’s creative team.
Photos posted to several SNL UK cast members’ social media accounts show the group posing on SNL‘s iconic homebase set, visiting Louie Zakarian‘s storied SNL makeup lab, and hanging with Alexander Skarsgård’s bestie, Jack McBrayer.

As we’ve reported, the show’s UK offshoot announced its 11-member cast Wednesday, and revealed a Saturday, March 21 premiere date for its initial six-episode pickup.
With Lorne Michaels on board as an executive producer of SNL UK, the show has enjoyed close relations with the flagship sketch comedy series. Michaels is reported to have spent time in London last summer as the show was in its planning stages, and SNL UK showrunner James Longman and director Liz Clare were seen shadowing their US counterparts earlier this season.
We hear key members of SNL‘s crew will be in London this month to help train the new show’s staff, and Michaels himself is expected to be on hand for SNL UK‘s premiere in March. (SNL proper will be dark the week of March 21.)
