Mikey Day Is 14th SNL Cast Member to Reach 700 Sketches

It’s a feat only 13 other SNL cast members have pulled off: With tonight’s Glen Powell–hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, Mikey Day has appeared in 700 sketches.

That’s according to the stats wizards at LateNighter’s podcast partner, The Saturday Night Network.

Tonight’s sketch “Norwegian Movie” was the one that put him over the top.

Now in his tenth SNL season, Day is only the 14th cast member to hit the 700-sketch milestone, an honor he shares with just one other current cast member: Kenan Thompson, whose 23 seasons on the show put him at the very top of the list.

Day’s first SNL sketch appearance actually predated his debut as a cast member. It came on September 27, 2014, when he was still on the show’s writing staff and had a bit part as a stormtrooper in a Marvel parody when Chris Pratt hosted. His first sketch as a featured player came on October 1, 2016, when he played Margot Robbie’s unimpressive husband in “Live Report.”

Tonight’s show was Day’s 186th episode as a cast member. Beyond his work on SNL, he also hosts Netflix’s hit reality competition series Is It Cake? and has had roles in various feature films, including Unfrosted, Good Burger 2, and Home Sweet Home Alone, which he co-wrote with his longtime SNL writing partner Streeter Seidell.
