In a late-breaking change, Michael Kosta will step in for Ronny Chieng as host of The Daily Show tonight.
Kosta will host Tuesday night’s episode with guests Death Cab for Cutie, whose appearance is set to include an in-studio performance.
As of yesterday, Chieng had been scheduled to take over the desk Tuesday following Jon Stewart’s Monday-night show. He remains scheduled to host Wednesday and Thursday.
Comedy Central did not immediately explain the reason for the last-minute switch.
Chieng’s remaining guests this week are Taika Waititi on Wednesday and Jimmy O. Yang on Thursday.
Though he’s one of the show’s five rotating Tuesday-through-Thursday hosts, Kosta has been especially busy at the anchor desk of late, hosting at least one night in four of The Daily Show’s last six weeks.
The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central and streams on Paramount+.
