New WH Press Secretary Katie Zacharia Shares SNL Casting Pick for Herself

It’s become something of a parlor game every time the Trump administration introduces a new face: Who will play them on Saturday Night Live?

New White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia says she’s already bracing for it. Interviewed by Jack Posobiec on Real America’s Voice Thursday, Zacharia was asked who she’d like to see portray her on SNL.

“I know it’s coming, yes,” Zacharia said, before considering her options. “Who would I like to have play me? Maybe a Scarlett Johansson type character.”

“I could see that,” Posobiec replied, noting that Johansson “is on there a lot.”

That’s putting it mildly. Scarlett Johansson has hosted SNL seven times, more than any other woman, and has made numerous cameos over the years—including several appearances as Ivanka Trump.

Whether Zacharia would actually tune in to see a hypothetical Johansson impression is another matter.

“I’m not watching anything right now except what he’s doing and focusing on what the president’s up to and trying to amplify that, Jack,” Zacharia said.

The exchange came two days after Zacharia’s first White House press briefing Tuesday, a roughly 14-minute outing that drew considerable attention for its brevity and her performance at the podium. She’s since come under fire for suggesting that she was a practicing attorney, when she reportedly has yet to pass the bar exam.

As for Posobiec’s prediction that SNL would come for Zacharia “this Saturday,” it’s a pretty safe bet they won’t: The show isn’t producing a new episode this Saturday.

SNL is off October 17 and October 24, and won’t return with a live episode until October 31, when Inde Navarrette hosts with musical guest Gracie Abrams.

So Zacharia has at least two more weeks to avoid watching.
