Jon Stewart Returns to Daily Show Desk Tonight; Desi Lydic Hosts Tues-Thurs

After a week-long break, Comedy Central’s “Best F**king News Team” is back to work today, with the first in a week of new episodes.

Jon Stewart will kick things off tonight with his guest Rupa Bhattacharyya, the former special master for September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, which had its funding cut by President Trump’s DOGE last week until bipartisan outcry saw the administration reverse its decision. Bhattacharyya now serves as the legal director of Georgetown Law’s Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection, and has been an fierce critic of Trump’s use of executive orders to reverse constitutionally protected rights.

Senior correspondent Desi Lydic will then take over as host tomorrow through Thursday. It will be Lydic’s second time behind The Daily Show‘s anchor desk this month, having just hosted three weeks ago.

Wendi McLendon-Covey will be Lydic’s guest on Tuesday. Best known for her role as Beverly Goldberg on the ABC comedy series The Goldbergs, McLendon-Covey stars in the new NBC comedy St Denis Medical.

On Wednesday Lydic will host writer/comedian Rosebud Baker. The three-year veteran of Saturday Night Live‘s writer’s room recently released her first Netflix special, The Mother Lode.

The Daily Show will then close out the week on Thursday with Lydic’s guest Gabrielle Union, who stars in the crime comedy Riff Raff, which opens in theaters Friday.

The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m, ET/PT on Comedy Central, and is available to stream next day on Paramount+
