Jon Stewart Returns to The Daily Show Desk Tonight; Desi Lydic Hosts Tue–Thu

The Daily Show returns with a fresh week of episodes starting tonight on Comedy Central, with Jon Stewart back in the anchor chair.

Jon Stewart, who was off last Monday for Martin Luther King Jr Day, will kick things off tonight with The Washington Post‘s Jason Rezaian, Director of Press Freedom Initiatives and a contributor to CNN.

Beginning Tuesday, Daily Show senior correspondent Desi Lydic takes over hosting duties through Thursday.

On Tuesday, Lydic welcomes actor Michael Urie, who is out promoting Season 3 of Shrinking. The acclaimed Apple TV comedy returns this Wednesday with a one-hour premiere.

Wednesday’s show features Mikie Sherrill, the newly inaugurated governor of New Jersey. Sherrill previously was a guest on the podcast The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart in November, not long after her Election Night victory.

The week wraps Thursday with actor Katherine LaNasa, who stars as Dana in HBO Max’s award-winning drama The Pitt (new Season 2 episodes drop every Thursday).

This will mark Desi Lydic’s first run behind the desk this season; her last weeklong hosting stint came in late October. The 11-year Daily Show vet topped the show’s 2025 leaderboard among all of her fellow rotating correspondent-hosts, hosting the show 29 nights across the year. (Michael Kosta came in second at 25.)

The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central, with episodes streaming the following day on Paramount+.
