John Mulaney has revealed the celebrity guests and show topics that will round out the current season of Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney.
Breaking from the show’s custom of announcing a single week’s guests at a time, Mulaney has just dropped a longer list of guests who are scheduled appear on the show’s final three episodes this season.
Among the namess listed are Amy Sedaris, Joe Mande, Natasha Lyonne, Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Sean Penn, Sigourney Weaver, and Steve Guttenberg. The show also has some special musical acts planned, including Alanis Morissette, Singaporean musician Yeule, and a joint performance of Sleater-Kinney and Fred Armisen. (Armisen and Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein are longtime collaborators from Thunderant and Portlandia.)
Armisen, Oswalt, and Silverman are all returning guests for Mulaney.
Concurrently, Netflix has revealed the topics for this season’s final three episodes. First up is “Why Can’t I Sleep?” (on May 14), followed by “Is Uber Good?” (on May 21) and “What is On The Minds of Teens?” (on May 28th). As Mulaney has been teasing for the past two weeks, the show’s season finale will see him square off in a fight against three 14-year-olds. (Perhaps that’s why he can’t sleep.)
Neither Mulaney nor the show have revealed which of the next three episodes each of its newly announced guests listed will appear, with one exception: Alanis Morissette is confirmed to be this week’s musical guest. Morissette is currently on an international tour and is gearing up for a residency in Las Vegas this October.
The singer has also previously spoken about struggling with insomnia, which makes this Wednesday’s topic particularly fitting.
Also booked for one of the upcoming episodes is Brain Surgeon and Neuroscientist Dr. Rahul Jandial. (The title of his most recent book, This Is Why You Dream: What Your Sleeping Brain Reveals About Your Waking Life, suggests he’d bring insight to this week’s sleep-themed episode.)
In a new teaser, Everybody’s Live also teases “courtside guests you won’t believe” and “disappointing callers.”
Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney streams live on Netflix Wednesdays at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.
