Jimmy Fallon Is Sending a Googly-Eye Army to March Madness

March Madness is upon us, and Jimmy Fallon is really getting his head in the game.

On Thursday’s episode of NBC’s The Tonight Show, Fallon clocked the onset of college’s basketball’s annual championship tournament, and how one of his favorite things “is when fans try to distract the other teams when they’re shooting foul shots.”

He cued up a video showing a variety of distraction techniques, including comically simulated childbirths, Moses parting a sea of fans in the stands, and giant heads that often sport googly eyes.

“They get really creative and fun with it,” he noted, “and we wanted to get in on that”—with googly eye Jimmy Fallon heads.

“Now if you want the other team to miss a free throw, just hold this up and shake it around, and let the googly eyes do the work,” he explained, before demonstrating how the head can also be worn for extra-distracting dancing. (Watch clip above.)

Fallon announced that The Tonight Show will be sending some of these heads to the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, which on Friday is hosting first-round match-ups between No. 3 seed Virginia and No. 14 seed Wright State; No. 6 seed Tennessee and No. 11 seed Miami (Ohio); No. 7 seed UCLA; and No. 10 seed UCF; and No. 2 seed UConn vs. No. 15 seed Furman University.

“If you’re at the game and you see a giant head with googly eyes, pick it up, shake it up, go crazy,” Fallon encouraged March Madness attendees. “We want to see it on the camera, we want you to distract people, and if it’s funny, we’re going to put it on the show.”
