Jack Black, Jack White to Headline SNL April 4

Saturday Night Live is leaning into a bit of nominative symmetry to start April. The show announced tonight that Jack Black will host its April 4 episode, with Jack White joining as musical guest.

Black’s return will mark his fifth time hosting SNL, and comes the same week he reprises his role as Bowser in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which opens in theaters April 1.

It’s a quick SNL turnaround for the comic actor, who had waited nearly 20 years between his third and fourth hosting appearances. This upcoming stint will come just shy of one year after his last time hosting, on April 5, 2025.

For White, the April 4 broadcast will mark his sixth appearance as SNL’s musical guest. His most recent performance on the show came in 2023, though he also memorably closed the show’s homecoming concert in 2025.

The Black/White pairing will be the first in a two-week April run for SNL. After airing new episodes April 4 and April 11, the show will take another two-week break before returning in May for its final three episodes of the season.

At press time, there was no word yet on who will host or serve as musical guest for the April 11 episode.
