Jack Black is taking his responsibilities as SNL host to a whole new level.
“I think he thinks hosting SNL is like literal hosting,” Ego Nwodim points out to fellow cast member Ashley Padilla in the just-released promo for this weekend’s Saturday Night Live,
Cue a montage of Jack Black frantically inserting himself into the show’s otherwise calm backstage atmosphere.
The A Minecraft Movie actor yells at Michael Longfellow to take his shoes off before entering the studio, worries about a roast he’s making for the cast and crew, and repeatedly directs Jane Wickline to the bathroom when she passes by.
He can also be seen interrupting Devon Walker as he pitches a “Black Domingo” character to writer Allie Levitan.
Black closes out the promo by freaking out over soggy asparagus (storming out of 8H faster than a country singer headed to God’s country).
Jack Black hosts SNL with musical guests Elton John and Brandi Carlile this Saturday, April 5 on NBC.
