The season may be over, but several Saturday Night Live cast members are already staging a reunion… on the ballfield.
Cast member Heidi Gardner is co-hosting this year’s Big Slick charity weekend in her hometown of Kansas City May 30-June 1, and she’s bringing five of her current co-stars along with her.
So far, Devon Walker, Punkie Johnson, Ego Nwodim, James Austin Johnson, and Molly Kearney are all confirmed to appear as guests across the weekend, which consists of a VIP event on Thursday, a celebrity softball game on Friday, and the “Big Slick Party & Show” on Saturday.
The centerpiece of the weekend is the celebrity softball game, which will be held at the Kansas City Royals’ Kauffman Stadium on Friday, May 31, preceding the Royals’ MLB game against the San Diego Padres. Also competing will be five former SNLers: Jason Sudeikis, Will Forte, Taran Killam, Rob Riggle, and David Koechner. In addition to those Not Ready For Primetime ballplayers, dozens of other stars—including Paul Rudd, Sheryl Crow, Adam Scott, and Patrick Mahomes have also been announced for the event.
And the charity weekend’s late-night ties don’t end there. Items in the Big Slick Silent Auction—running online now—include tickets to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Daily Show; a VIP experience at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon featuring a backstage tour by Seth Herzog; and a personalized message from Robert Smigel’s Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
Gardner, who was born and raised in Kansas City, first guested at Big Slick in 2019, and served as a co-host for last year’s festivities.
Big Slick ’24 marks the 15th anniversary of the charity festival, which supports Children’s Mercy Kansas City. It began in 2010 as a poker tournament hosted by Sudeikis, Rudd, and Riggle. Big Slick has raised over $21 million for the children’s hospital since it began.
