Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett and comedian Dave Foley will join as guest panelists on the Season 3 premiere episode of Have I Got News For You this Saturday on CNN.
The panel-style show, modeled after the long-running BBC comedy series of the same name, is hosted by former Daily Show correspondent Roy Wood Jr. He’s accompanied by team captains Amber Ruffin—who led her own late-night show, The Amber Ruffin Show, on Peacock from 2020-2022—and sketch comedian/actor Michael Ian Black.
Both Crockett and Foley return guests to HIGNFY; in fact, they competed against eachother in a memorable episode this past March—she on Black’s team, and he on Ruffin’s.
Have I Got News For You premiered on CNN a year ago, where it follows encore presentation of Real Time With Bill Maher as part of the news network’s renewed focus on primetime programming over the weekends, creating a new comedy block on Saturday evenings.
“I just think it’s important for people to have a place on a weekend to exhale about the week,” host Wood told LateNighter in an interview last year. “That’s all we’re trying to be. It’s just a comedic exhale. We can get back to seriousness and the mud and the muck on Monday morning.”
The show has proven to be a bright spot for CNN’s Saturday schedule, earning praise from critics, and frequently outperforming the network’s weekday primetime lineup.
The Season 3 premiere of Have I Got News For You airs this Saturday, September 6 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on CNN and will be available to stream on HBO Max the following day.
The series is executive produced by Jimmy Mulville, Jim Biederman, and Richard Wilson for Britain’s Hat Trick Productions.
