Bill Maher Gutfeld! Appearance Shatters Ratings Records

Greg Gutfeld welcomed fellow late-night talk show host Bill Maher to his Fox News program this past Monday, and viewers were apparently quite intrigued.

In fact, the Monday, May 20, 2024 installment of Gutfeld! featuring the Real Time host is now the most-watched episode in the show’s history, having delivered nearly 2.9 million live-plus-same-day viewers in the 10 p.m. ET timeslot. Those numbers will grow a bit once delayed data arrives in the coming days.

Additionally, Gutfeld! , which debuted in 2021, was the most-watched cable news program in the A25-54 demo this past Monday, having averaged 342,000 viewers from the measurement. Fox News Channel’s late night-style program consistently beats its 10 p.m. cable news counterparts in several different audience measurements, including total viewers, P25-54 and 18-49.

Gutfeld! is posting year-over-year viewership growth. Per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data for May 2024 to-date (through Tuesday, May 21), the program is averaging 2,235,000 total viewers, 276,000 P25-54 and 151,000 P18-49 in the 10 p.m. ET hour. That’s up +37% in total viewers, +27% in P25-54 (the TV news demo) and +19% in P18-49 (the cable entertainment demo) vs. Gutfeld!‘s May 2023 live-plus-same-day averages (when the show aired at 11 p.m. ET).

Maher’s appearance on Gutfeld! this past Monday was not his first on Fox News. He appeared on The O’Reilly Factor when that show was still on the air.

Maher joined Gutfeld! to discuss his new book, “What This Comedian Said Will Shock You.” The duo also discussed Biden and Trump, the upcoming election and other political and cultural news of the day.

You rock Gutfeld! You handled the show perfectly well. And I commend Bill for his true self. Bill should always be invited to your show not for the purpose of increasing viewership but this will somehow get the two sides united.

The Gutfeld Show with Bill Maher was a Great Show!
They were both funny & serious & proved that people with different points of view can have very serious debate without the race card,& other hate feelings. I hope they get together again!

  6. Leslee says:

why can’t we find a reputable candidate who observes all sides, pos & neg, done as well as BMaher? ridiculous
    smart people step up, pls

  7. Mary says:

So Bill has done the Gutfeld show, Megan Kelly show , Fox news show and the View. He’s a smart cookie and he knows how to sell a book. Let’s see if GMA, The Tody show or Rachel Maddox or CNN invites him on.

We have been a Gutfeld fan since Red Eye, The five and Gutfeld ! are all on our favorite list. I don’t agree with everything Bill Maher says, but he does make a lot of sense on some issues. what I like about bthh men is that they do not bow down to the woke culture. My only wish is that Maher will study President Donald J. Trump a closer look, this may cause him to change his mind. what I love about President Donald J. Trump is his love for this country and the people in it. He is an amazing business man and will bring more jobs to the United States of America, he will settle the migrant conflict and he has very thick skin. He will not allow the left to deter him. If he would have announced his candacy as a Democom they would gave supported him. The envy they show towards him and his family is astounding. Bill Maher should always be on Gutfeld as this may assist in bringing the 2 sides together.
