A New York City comic who says she’s friendly with Saturday Night Live writers and cast members is accusing the show of stealing her idea for a sketch in this week’s show.
In an Instagram Reel shared with her 84,000 followers four weeks ago, Isa Medina joked: “They should make a ChatGPT just for Latinas. It just argues with you. So if you say something, it just disagrees until eventually it’s like, ‘OK, you won.’”
The premise bears some resemblance to SNL’s “ChatGPTio” pre-tape from Saturday night, which cast Marcello Hernández and musical guest Bad Bunny as Latin uncles dispensing unconventional answers to users’ questions.
“I know how truly insane it sounds to claim that a network television show would steal an idea from a ‘content creator,’” Medina wrote in an Instagram Story on Sunday. “I’ve seen other comics do it and it’s like okaaaayyyy sure….. it’s probably parallel thinking.”
“But,” she continued, “it’s a bit less far fetched when I know writers and cast members and they follow me. And one writer on the show actually COMMENTED on THAT exact reel and now the comment has been deleted? lol why delete the comment if it was just parallel thinking?”
Medina was photographed last month with former SNL cast member Emil Wakim. It’s unclear which writer she was referring to as having deleted their comment and/or whether they were involved in the writing of “ChatGPTio.”
Closing her message, Medina wrote: “This is so dumb and annoying bc I would not have asked for money or credit if they gave me a heads up. I would have just wanted to meet Bad Bunny. Gwatever, honored to have finally had an idea good enough for SNL to steal and expand upon.”
NBC and Saturday Night Live have yet to comment on Medina’s post, but a source close to the show told LateNighter that “ChatGPTio” was created independently and the idea was generated from the show’s writers on their own.

Sounds like stealing to me
Yeah, like Joe Biden, they plagiarized it…..pretty pathetic to steal jokes for the worst SNL episode in decades.
Ugh, not this guy again. 🙄
Not only that, but they did back to back “”white women friends at a restaurant” segments with the same two women.
Laziness.
Did the prison you’re incarcerated in give you time for good behavior to write that shit of yours, bitch?
You really need psychiatric help, bitch!
I made a joke on Facebook last Thursday, and at least two shows subsequently made essentially the same joke (about ICE agents raiding the Super Bowl for illegal immigrants who could afford Super Bowl tickets).
Should I sue, or just whine here?
Those Cowards need to grow up. Just because helping yourself to women’s property used to be the norm, doesn’t make it legal now.
Recent study in a business publication showed that the #1 way to piss off the whole office was to steal credit for someone else’s work/idea.
They know who they are. Please follow up on this story. Out them.
Comedians who post should put that little ©️ on every damn thing they write. Just get in the habit.
