Despite having a new streaming home (on Netflix), Pop Culture Jeopardy! will remain very true to its name, as affirmed by a first trailer for Season 2 of the “answer-and-question” quizzer spinoff.
Saturday Night Live vet Colin Jost returns as host for the second, 20-episode season, which will roll out episodes every weekday starting Monday, May 11, through Friday, June 5.
Season 2 will stream on Netflix, following a freshman run on Prime Video. “And if this doesn’t work out, I’ll be doing a third season on OnlyFans,” Jost jokes in the trailer above.
A twist on the classic quiz show currently hosted by Ken Jennings, Pop Culture Jeopardy! combines academic rigor with the ever-changing world of pop culture. Contestants compete on teams to test their knowledge on a variety of categories as they compete in a tournament-style event for the grand prize and ultimate bragging rights.
In the trailer above, Jost quips that Season 2 will bring “great honor” to the Alex Trebek Stage where the show tapes with categories covering the likes of AI Slop, Real Housewives, and whatever the heck “6-7” is/means. (I still don’t know! But my MOCA pals and I do the little hand thing whenever announcing it as a pickleball score.)
Pop Culture Jeopardy! is produced by Sony Pictures Television, with Jeopardy! showrunner Michael Davies serving as executive producer and Bari Jean Dorman as co-executive producer.
So, we’re moving to Netflix, we’re reducing teams from 3 members to 2, and we’re cutting the amount of episodes in half. Hmmmm….
