Chloe Fineman and a gaggle of SNL alums are South by Southwest-bound for the world premiere of Summer of 69.
Fineman boarded the project last summer. The film centers around an awkward high school senior who hires an exotic dancer to help seduce her longtime crush before graduation. That dancer, named “Santa Monica,” is played by Fineman, who stars alongside Sam Morelos—most recently seen in That ‘90s Show—as the aforementioned high schooler.
The movie, which is set to stream on Hulu later this year, is the latest addition to Fineman’s fast-growing filmography. The Saturday Night Live cast member last appeared on the big screen in Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.’
In Summer of 69, Fineman leads a cast that also includes two other members of the SNL mafia: Alex Moffat, who spent six years in the cast of the show (including three alongside Fineman), and legendary SNL writer/Girls5eva star Paula Pell.
Actress and comedian Jillian Bill (a former SNL writer herself) makes her directorial debut with Summer of 69. She also co-wrote, and produced the project. Describing the film to TheWrap, Bell said it “poses as a typical teen comedy… then it shifts into this unique, hilarious and touching film about female friendship.
South by Southwest runs March 7-15 in Austin, Texas. Summer of 69 is scheduled to screen on March 13-14 before making its way to Hulu later this year.
