NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon would like to take you on a strange journey, by hosting a performance by the cast of Broadway’s The Rocky Horror Show next Monday, May 4.
Based on both the original staging and the similarly titled 1975 cult film, Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show features the “strangely irresistible characters who’ve been captivating audiences around the globe for over 50 years, now brought to reanimated life” by the likes of Rachel Dratch (Saturday Night Live), Andrew Durand (Dead Outlaw), Luke Evans (the West End’s Rent), Amber Gray (Hadestown), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows), Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers), Josh Rivera (Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story), and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (Pose).
All of the above will take part in the Tonight Show performance, along with cast mates Renée Albulario, Anania, Boy Radio, Caleb Quezon, Andres Quintero, Larkin Reilly, Paul Soileau and John Yi.
The Broadway revival features songs from the film, including “Sweet Transvestite,” “Dammit Janet,” and “Time Warp”; no word yet on which number will be performed on The Tonight Show.
The May 4 episode of The Tonight Show will also feature guests Lisa Kudrow (The Comeback), Robert Irwin (Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro), and Stevie Van Zandt.
