Bad Bunny Makes Himself at Home in First SNL Season 51 Promo

Is Bad Bunny getting a little too comfortable at Saturday Night Live? The first promo for this weekend’s Season 51 premiere suggests the answer is yes.

The spot shows the returning SNL host pushing boundaries with several cast members, poking fun at his increasingly frequent presence on the show.

“It’s so cool that Bad Bunny’s back. I feel like he’s been here a lot recently,” Sarah Sherman says to Marcello Hernández. “Do you think he’s getting comfortable with us?”

“Yeah, for sure,” Hernández replies. “I just… I can’t tell if he’s, like, too comfortable.”

That sets up a montage of Bad Bunny backstage, where he calls Ben Marshall a “slut,” and borrows Jane Wickline’s toothbrush before asking her if she thinks he has strep throat.

New cast member Veronika Slowikowska also makes her first on-screen appearance for the show in the promo, leaning into her rookie status when Bad Bunny asks if a friend can crash at her place. “Today’s literally my first day,” she responds.

Though Hernández ultimately shrugs off his concerns, the sight of Bad Bunny putting Marshall in a headlock at the promo’s end suggests he might be on to something.

After making his SNL debut in 2020 in an episode of SNL at Home in 2020, Bad Bunny has hosted the show once, been the musical guest three times, and appeared in the SNL50 anniversary special.

He returns for his second turn as host this Saturday, October 4, with Doja Cat as musical guest.
