Saturday Night Live has locked in its final hosts and musical guests of 2025, with Ariana Grande and Cher leading the show’s annual Christmas episode on Dec. 20.
Grande will host for the third time, returning to Studio 8H as her film Wicked: For Good hits theaters Nov. 21. The Academy Award–nominated and Grammy-winning performer hosted the show just last year in a well-received episode that paired her with another music legend, Stevie Nicks.
Cher will perform as musical guest for the second time, marking her first official SNL appearance since 1987. The Oscar, Emmy and Grammy winner recently released her autobiography, Cher: The Memoir, now available in paperback. She previously took the stage during the SNL50 Homecoming Concert earlier this year and was in the audience for the show’s primetime anniversary special.
NBC also confirmed the show’s Dec. 13 lineup. Josh O’Connor will make his SNL hosting debut, coinciding with his starring role in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which opens in theaters Nov. 26 and hits Netflix on Dec. 12. Lily Allen will return as musical guest for the second time, supporting her newly released fifth album, West End Girl.
The news follows Saturday’s announcement that five-time host Melissa McCarthy will lead the Dec. 6 episode, joined by first-time musical guest Dijon.
Saturday Night Live will head into its holiday hiatus after the Dec. 20 episode and return in January with the second half of its 51st season.
