Jon Stewart is set to sit down tonight with former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon, whose recent resignation from the artificial intelligence company—and stark warnings about the potential dangers of AI—have drawn national attention.
Coxon resigned from Anthropic last month after spending three years working in pretraining research at Anthropic and OpenAI. In announcing his departure, he accused both companies of taking irresponsible risks in the race to develop increasingly powerful AI systems.
His Daily Show appearance comes amid continued debate over AI safety and regulation, and comes on the same day Coxon is testifying before the New York City Council about the risks posed by the technology.
Stewart will then hand the desk over Tuesday to Michael Kosta, who will host the remainder of the week.
Kosta’s first guest Tuesday is writer, director, and producer Aaron Sorkin, who will promote his new film The Social Reckoning.
On Wednesday, Kosta welcomes Sebastian Stan, who will be on to discuss his new film Fjord.
The week wraps Thursday with actor, podcast host, and author Kyle MacLachlan, who will promote his memoir, Fictional Selves.
With this week’s run, Kosta joins Desi Lydic and Jordan Klepper at seven hosting weeks in 2026, putting the trio of senior correspondents at the front of the show’s rotating host pack for the year so far. Josh Johnson has hosted five weeks, while Ronny Chieng has hosted four.
The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central, with episodes streaming the following day on Paramount+.
