Jimmy Kimmel got a little more help than he bargained for on Thursday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
Midway through his monologue, Kimmel was interrupted by a woman he introduced as his assistant, “Natalie,” an unmistakable sendup of Natalie Harp, Donald Trump’s executive assistant and frequent presence at his side. Harp also helps manage Trump’s Truth Social posts and has become known for supplying him with printed news articles and social media posts.
“This is my assistant, Natalie,” Kimmel explained as she hovered nearby, her arms filled with a bag of golf clubs, a laptop, two phones, and what appeared to be an oversized bag of, um, toiletries.
“My guardian and my protector,” Natalie replied, offering to do “whatever it is you need me to do.”
That phrasing was itself a reference to Harp, who has reportedly referred to Trump as her “Guardian and Protector in this Life.”
Kimmel’s Natalie proceeded to fuss over the host, asking if he had anything he wanted her to post and, at one point, whether she could look inside his mouth.
When Kimmel told her to sit down, she planted herself on the floor at his feet. When he helped her back up, she cooed, “Your hands are so soft and your body is so strong.”
Things only escalated when Kimmel asked Guillermo to escort her backstage.
“I can’t hear you backstage. I can’t smell you backstage. I can’t wipe you backstage,” she protested, adding, “I am not a backstage girl! I want to be right here. Your wife doesn’t deserve you!”
That last line had an extra layer: “Natalie” was being played by Kimmel’s actual wife, Jimmy Kimmel Live! executive producer and co-head writer Molly McNearney.
The gag resurfaced later, as McNearney-as-Harp could be seen hiding behind The Cletones as the show returned from its first commercial break.
