Jimmy Kimmel, Jon Stewart and Conan O’Brien Rock the Night of Too Many Stars

Thursday’s Night of Too Many Stars once again was a night of many late-night greats.

An established and recurring comedy event co-founded by veteran comedy writer Robert Smigel and benefitting NEXT for Autism, Night of Too Many Stars this year converged with the Netflix Is a Joke Fest for the first time.

Hosted by Jon Stewart Thursday night at The Hollywood Bowl, Night of Too Many Stars among other things saw Conan O’Brien (on guitar and vocals), Love on the Spectrum star Abbey Romeo (vocals), Stewart (drums), and Jimmy Kimmel (bass clarinet) perform as “The Very White Stripes.”

O’Brien and Romeo, with Stewart on drums, served up a duet of The White Stripes‘ “We’re Going to Be Friends,” while Kimmel joined in for “Seven Nation Army.”

Night of Too Many Stars also featured appearances by John Mulaney, Bill Burr, Steve Carell, Ron Funches, Nikki Glaser, Tiffany Haddish, Leanne Morgan, Bob Odenkirk, Matt Rife, Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, Ali Wong, and Noah Wyle (who in a comedy bit with Stewart channeled The Pitt‘s Dr. Robby, offering fans “exams” in return for charitable donations).

Thursday evening’s Netflix Is a Joke Fest itinerary also included “Seth Goes Greek,” hosted by Seth Rogen at The Greek and delivering comedy and music via Stewart, Glaser, Silverman, Eric André, Nick Kroll, Busta Rhymes, Michael Bublé, Josh Groban and others, all in support of Rogen’s Hilarity for Charity.

Meanwhile at Hollywood’s Montalban Theatre, “This Better Be Funny With David Letterman” featured a 90-minute conversation with Martin Short (ahead of the Tuesday release of the Netflix documentary Marty, Life Is Short), plus a performance by the guest of honor with onetime Letterman bandleader Paul Shaffer at piano,

Earlier in the day, the Netflix Is a Joke Fest hosted a Comedy Brunch at co-CEO Ted Sarandos’ home. It was attended by a veritable Who’s Who of Who’s Funny—including but by no means limited to Stewart, Mulaney, David Letterman, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Molly Shannon, Fred Armisen, Will Forte, Wanda Sykes, Caroline Rhea, Whitney Cummings, Dave Chappelle, and Kevin Hart.
