In a court filing against her It Ends With Us co-star and director, Lively says she was originally scheduled to host the Season 50 opener.

“Lorne really wanted to do something big and different and modern,” Emily Oberman tells Fast Company. “He kept saying, ‘This isn’t a nostalgia play, this casts the future of the show … this open should be spectacular.”

Luckily Kenan Thompson is on the case in a new promo for this weekend’s SNL.
