Gutfeld! Viewers Flood Kat Timpf’s Cancer Fundraiser With Donations

Kat Timpf went on Gutfeld! Thursday night hoping the show’s viewers might help add another $20,000 to her sister’s fundraiser for cancer research. By Friday, they had contributed more than $175,000.

The fundraiser, which stood at about $125,000 before Thursday’s show, had surged past $300,000 less than a day later.

Timpf’s younger sister, Julia, is running Sunday’s New York City Marathon to raise money for Memorial Sloan Kettering, the hospital where Timpf was treated for breast cancer.

In a video posted to social media Friday, Timpf said she and her sister had talked before the show about what the Gutfeld! mention might do for the campaign.

“I hope we can raise maybe, like, another 20K from mentioning it,” Timpf recalled thinking.

Instead, “We are at over $300,000,” she said. “There’s a couple big ones, bigger ones, but it’s mostly small donations. Thousands of people donating small amounts.”

The response comes after an extraordinarily difficult stretch for Timpf, whose breast cancer journey has played out publicly over the last 20 months.

She was diagnosed just 15 hours before giving birth to her first child in February 2025 and subsequently underwent a double mastectomy. Her treatment and recovery led to three separate leaves from Gutfeld!, including time away for reconstructive surgery and, earlier this year, the maternity leave she never really got to take after her original leave was overtaken by cancer treatment.

Timpf is now cancer-free and pregnant with her second child.

On Thursday’s Gutfeld!, Timpf, who turned 38 that day, made a direct appeal to viewers as the show displayed a QR code linking to Julia’s fundraiser.

“For my birthday all I want, you guys, is to cure cancer,” she said.

Timpf told viewers that the donations had given her a way to turn some of what she went through into something positive.

“Everybody who donates, it really helps me take pain and create joy out of it because we’re raising real money here,” she said. “Even if a fraction of the people who watch this show donated, we could make such a difference.”

In Friday’s video, Timpf said she had been crying on and off all day as she watched the donations pile up.

“I’m not glad that I had cancer,” she said. “But we wouldn’t have raised this money if I didn’t have cancer, so there is something for me to be grateful for.”

She also made sure to give some credit to the person doing the actual running.

“Shout out to my sister especially, by the way, ’cause she’s the one that actually has to run it,” Timpf said.

“Gutfeld! fans are amazing,” she added. “I’m overwhelmed by the support.”
